Ambassador Martín García Moritán

Born in Buenos Aires, March 12th. 1955. Married, five children.

Bachelor in Law (Faculdad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales, Universidad de Buenos Aires, 1980) Career member of the Foreign Service since 1983, graduated from the Instituto del Servicio Exterior (Argentine Diplomatic Academy), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina.

Graduate studies at the University of Madrid, Spain, where he received a degree in International Affairs in 1986.

He has served as Foreign Service Officer at the Argentine embassies in the Holy See (1984-85), Brasilia- Brazil (1987-92), La Paz- Bolivia (1993-94), Permanent Mission of Argentina to the United Nations (1995-98); Consulate General of Argentina in Recife- Brazil (1998-99); Permanent Mission of Argentina to the United Nations (2003-09), as Representative and Coordinator of the Security Council issues.
 

General Commissioner of the Argentine Pavilion to the World Exposition Shanghai 2010, (2009-2010).

Director of the Special Representation on Terrorism Affairs (2011), Director of Federal and Electoral Affairs (2012-2013) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina.

Decorated by Holy See with the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great and the Federative Republic of Brazil with the Rio Branco Order.
 

Permanent Representative of the Argentine Republic to the United Nations.
