The Argentine Government condemns the election of representatives of Maduro's regime to the UN Human Rights Council for the 2020-2022 period.

Argentina also regrets non-compliance with General Assembly Resolution 60/251 of the General Assembly, which encourages that seats to the Council be given to countries that respect and apply strict rules to promote and protect human rights.

Our country reaffirms its commitment to the defence of human rights and the restoration of democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela.
