The Argentine Republic once again condemns, in the most vigorous terms, the launch of an intermediate-range ballistic missile yesterday, 11 February, by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Like the repeated tests carried out in recent years, this is a new act of hostility and provocation vis-à-vis the international community and an overt violation of the international obligations established in United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013) and 2270 (2016), which address the nuclear and missile programmes of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

It is imperative that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea immediately comply with the abovementioned Resolutions and abandon this methodology of hostile acts in the region, which constitute a new threat to international peace and security.
