Información para la Prensa N°: 209/17

The Argentine Republic once again strongly condemns the launch of a ballistic missile that occurred on Monday 29 May at 5.39 a.m. The missile was launched towards the Sea of Japan from an area near Wonsan, in the Province of Kangwon, and flew around 450 kilometres.

This is a new act of hostility and provocation against the international community which overtly violates international obligations arising from United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013), 2270 (2016), 2321 (2016) and 2345 (2017), which address the North Korean missile and nuclear programmes.

Argentina once again urges the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to promptly comply with these Resolutions and end these systematic hostile acts in the region, which constitute a threat to international peace and security.
