The Government of the Argentine Republic congratulates President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón for winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

This prestigious award ratifies the leadership and the strong determination of the Colombian President to put an end to more than 50 years of armed conflict. In this regard, it is worth highlighting his call on all political sectors after the referendum held on 2 October in order to open a dialogue that will make it possible to find common ground to achieve stable and long-standing peace.

Argentina also salutes the Colombian people, which continues to be committed to peace, and reiterates its support so that the benefits of this process will reach the entire Colombian nation.
