We have learnt that our dear Latin American sister, Christiana Figueres, has withdrawn her candidacy for the position of United Nations Secretary-General.

We are convinced that her personal and professional qualities will allow her to continue standing out in the international arena and upholding the prestige of our region’s diplomacy.

Her efforts towards the signing of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change are just an example of her diplomatic and leadership skills, so necessary these days.
