The Argentine Republic once again vigorously condemns the launch of a ballistic missile today by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea over the Sea of Japan from an area near Sinpo, South Hamgyong Province.

This is a new act of hostility and provocation against the international community which overtly violates international obligations arising from United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013), 2270 (2016), 2321 (2016) and 2345 (2017), which address the North Korean missile and nuclear programmes.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea must immediately comply with the aforementioned Resolutions and end these hostile acts in the region, which constitute a continuous threat to international peace and security.
