The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), the Vienna-based highest authority in the international control of narcotics, delivered to the Argentine Government a report on its Mission to the Argentine Republic in May 2016. The representatives of INCB held meetings with authorities from ten Argentine Government bodies, in order to address the implementation of and compliance with the provisions of international narcotics control treaties.
In its report, INCB included a positive review on the actions implemented by the current Government to prevent drug addiction and fight drug trafficking, praising its commitment to international narcotics control treaties, its determination to address the problem of drugs in the country, and its work on the fight against money laundering.
The meetings were held in a spirit of open and constructive dialogue, and INCB and the Argentine Government ratified their commitment to keeping up their joint work in a field deemed to be a priority by the Argentine President.
