The Government of the Argentine Republic commends the Government and people of Brazil on the recent election and congratulates Mr. Jair Bolsonaro on winning the majority vote on the second-round run-off for Head of State and Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The elections held on 28 October once again prove the strength of Brazil's democratic institutions.

The strong traditional bonds of friendship and cooperation between both countries make Brazil an undeniable strategic partner for Argentina, which is reflected in the variety and importance of shared agenda issues.

The Argentine Government reaffirms its willingness to continue working together with the newly-elected Government of Brazil, with a view to strengthening bonds between both countries and working for the welfare of all Argentines and Brazilians.
