The Argentine Republic expresses its solidarity with the Brazilian People and Government, and especially with Brazil's cultural and scientific community and the Rio de Janeiro Federal University, in view of the damage to the priceless collection of the Rio de Janeiro National Museum following the fire that broke out yesterday evening.

The Argentine People hope for this historical institution to soon find a way to continue carrying out its remarkable efforts to promote development through the dissemination of culture, education and science, as it has ever since it was established, in the belief that the Museum's work contributes to building humanity's memory.
