To commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November, the Undersecretary for Foreign Relations, Gustavo Zlauvinen, and the United Kingdom Ambassador to Argentina, Mark Kent, opened the Workshop on National Action Plans to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security today at the Palacio San Martín.
The aim of the workshop is to analyze processes, strategies and best practices in the implementation of national action plans on the subject.
The event featured Zarina Khan, an expert on Women, Peace and Security, as a special guest. She is the Director of Gender Actions for Peace and Security, a British NGO.
During the event, several National Focal Points of the Ministries working on the Argentine Action Plan, officials from foreign embassies and organizations of civil society shared experiences, views and challenges relating to the implementation of the respective National Action Plans.
