The Argentine people and government express their consternation over the devastating impact of Hurricane Maria on the Caribbean, and especially on the Commonwealth of Dominica, and the government conveys its condolences to the families of the deceased and its support for those injured and those who have lost everything as a result of this natural disaster.
In order to materialize Argentina's solidarity with Dominica, the Argentine government has offered humanitarian aid through the White Helmets Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, which is keeping contact with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency.
In addition, the Argentine Embassy in Saint Lucia, with concurrent jurisdiction over Dominica and Saint Kitts and Nevis, has been trying to contact local authorities so as to provide any Argentine citizens there with immediate support, as well as to determine the different local needs in view of this emergency. The Argentine representation's efforts continue in the light of the breakdown of communications in these Caribbean countries.
