The Argentine Government strongly condemns the twin bombings at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the island of Jolo, province of Sulu, perpetrated on 27 January, which left dozens dead and injured.

The Argentine Republic conveys its condolences and solidarity to the Government and people of the Philippines, as well as to the families of the victims, and hopes for a speedy recovery of those injured.

The Argentine Government once again strongly condemns terrorism in all of its forms, within the framework of international law and respect for human rights, and believes that terrorist acts, such as those perpetrated in the Philippines, pose a threat to international peace and security, as well as to human dignity.
